[Technical Discussion] Switching beep too loud? We heard you — and made it adjustable
Hey all,
We recently got a piece of feedback that felt very real:
“The switching sound isn’t a problem — but in a quiet setup, it’s just a bit too loud.”
Not a complaint, just a thoughtful suggestion.
And honestly… we get it.
What we did first
For that specific user, we provided a custom firmware build with reduced beep volume — just to make their setup more comfortable.
What we changed going forward
Instead of keeping this as a one-off tweak, we decided to make it more flexible for everyone.
Newer firmware now supports adjustable beep volume via hotkeys:
The beep now supports four adjustable volume levels—mute, low, medium, and high—so you can tailor it to different usage environments.
So you can tune it depending on your environment — whether you're in a quiet office, shared workspace, or don’t want any sound at all.
Why we’re sharing this
This is one of those small details that doesn’t show up on spec sheets, but really affects daily experience.
Also a good example of how user feedback directly turns into product behavior.
Curious — what do you prefer?
- Completely silent setup?
- Subtle feedback sound?
- Or louder confirmation?
Would be interesting to hear how people are using it in different environments.
