Hybrid Mode Alt Key Stuck After Switching Machines
Hello there!
First of all, thank you for such a great product. I'm using the TESmart DKS202-M24 and overall I'm very happy with it.
However, I've noticed one issue related to Hybrid Mode and switching machines using the double Alt hotkey combination.
Problem description:
When I switch between machines using the double Alt shortcut, the Alt key sometimes remains in a "pressed" state on the previously active machine. As a result, the operating system behaves as if Alt is still being held down.
Examples:
- On macOS, if I immediately open Finder after switching, it opens a new Finder window instead of focusing the existing one, because macOS thinks Alt is still pressed.
- The same behavior happens on Windows with various applications and shortcuts.
Additional behavior:
- If I press Alt again immediately after switching, the KVM interprets it as another double Alt command and switches machines again.
- The only workaround I've found is to press another modifier key together with Alt (for example Left Ctrl + Alt), after which the stuck state disappears.
This issue is not critical, but it happens consistently and can be slightly disruptive during frequent switching.
Do you have any suggestions, firmware updates, or configuration changes that could help resolve this behavior?
Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks for the detailed description.
This kind of “stuck modifier key” behavior has been reported in certain switching scenarios, and we have made some improvements in more recent firmware versions that address similar cases.
We recommend updating to the latest firmware package for your DKS202-M24. In previous cases, this has helped improve or resolve the issue related to modifier key state handling during fast switching (such as the double-Alt hotkey Hybrid Mode).
You can download the firmware package, upgrade tool, and step-by-step upgrade guide here:DKS202-M24 upgrade – TESmart
After updating, please test again with the same switching workflow and let us know if the behavior still persists.
If it continues, we may need to further look into the exact switching timing and OS-specific behavior.

Hi! Thank you for that! This really helps with stuck modifier key, although there's another issue appeared - the follow mode.
Previously, when I press ctrl+ctrl+~ I could disable follow mode and switch my headset+mic across different machines. Now nothing happens (at least no audio confirmation) and the system stuck in PC1 for screens and PC2 for USB no matter what I do according to LEDs. When I press ctrl+ctrl+0 it still switches USB devices though, so only LED on device and sound confirmation are misleading. As another example, when I assume follow mode is ON and I'm on PC1 I do ctrl+ctrl+1 and on device I see that both screens are now glow BLUE, although “Audio” LED glows GREEN and at the same time I have my Audio switched from PC2 to PC1

Hello,
Please try updating to the latest firmware again using the package provided in the same link?DKS202-M24 upgrade – TESmart
Please also note that the update must be performed using the KVMFUT_Windows (V1.3.10_Release) tool included in the package.
After the update, kindly test the Follow Mode / audio switching behavior again and let us know if the issue still persists.

Hello!
I pathed with new version this morning and I can confirm the issue still persists. I can see the follow mode still working, but no visual or LED confirmation occured, LED still stuck on previous PC when switching them (PC2 when I'm on PC1). Although when I press ctrl+ctrl+~ I can clearly feel follow mode turns on or off (Audio and USB stops following PCs), just lacking a visual and audio confirmation.0 -
Hello! Just wanted to follow-up, is there any way of how to make KVM working back to normal as it was before patching it? Follow mode is still broken and it makes my experience working with KVM a bit worse. I might be fine with stuck Alt key just to make Follow mode work. Thank you!
