Tesmart KVM2x2 with Macbook M1 and M4
Hello,
I have a new KVM2x2 with MacBooks M1 and M4.
My only issue so far is when M1 is on monitor A and M4 is on monitor B. What happens is that the M4 keeps on reporting as having two external monitors (A and B) although the image appearing in monitor A is the one from M1.
How to I make the M4 understand that there is only one external monitor connected in this situation?
Thanks in advance.

Dear António Jorge,
Thank you for your message.
What you’re experiencing is normal behavior caused by the KVM’s EDID emulation. The switch keeps both monitors logically connected to each Mac to ensure smooth switching and prevent resolution or layout resets. As a result, your M4 still detects two external displays even when one screen is actively showing the M1.
At the system level, macOS does not allow a display to be fully “ignored” while its EDID is still present. As a workaround, you may manually adjust the display arrangement in macOS settings.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Best regards,
