Isolating Virtual USB Network Interfaces on DKS402-M24-EUBK
I am considering the Tesmart DKS402-M24-EUBK KVM switch.
Its built-in Ethernet hub/switch creates a transparent connection between connected devices via virtual USB network interfaces, even though the RJ45 port will not be used.
How can I ensure safe and effective isolation of these virtual network connections when:
- Windows machines with WSL 2 and VMware systems are connected to the KVM,
- the KVM’s Ethernet interface remains disconnected from any network?
Are there configuration options in the KVM or on the connected systems to prevent any unintended network bridging or communication between the connected devices?

Hello,
The DKS402-M24 allows you to disable the built-in Ethernet (USB network) function using a hotkey:
Right Ctrl + Right Ctrl + F4
Once this function is disabled, the KVM will no longer provide a network connection between the connected computers. Each system will then rely only on its own independent network connection (e.g., Wi-Fi or its own Ethernet connection), ensuring proper isolation.
This approach effectively prevents any unintended communication or network bridging between the connected devices when the RJ45 port is not in use.
